heather 2.0

newly single, new home, one career in the books, this is truly a new version of life

Things I like besides cute shoes ...

I tend to be a geeky girly girl. Yes, it is possible to do both at the same time. You can love a new pair of cute shoes and be a software engineer all at once. I'm just as likely to want to see a Nicholas Sparks romance movie as the new Star Wars episode coming out this year. That's just me.

Amateur photography is one of my hobbies. I love landscape photography the most as shown by my little photo gallery below. The mountain west, the high country, is one of my favorite places to go. The beach is great, but seeing the aspens change to gold in a high mountain valley is my idea of heaven.

Hiking, shopping, downhill skiing and occasionally a little guitar can be added to the list. I tend to stick to the green slopes and if I play guitar most people would hope that I stop.

So it's time for Heather version 2.0. It's going to be fun!

You are only limited to what you push yourself to, you know? You can always get better. Lindsey Vonn

My Professional Side

I specialize in leading complex software engineering efforts

I spent 30 years at AT&T until one of those offers too good to refuse came along. Most of that time I was doing something information technology related, but I also spent about eighteen months opening retail stores in Houston, TX and five years overall in wireless. As careers go I had both good and bad assignments but mostly good. In the time since I left AT&T there have been a lot of changes in my life, but I think I'm about ready to re-enter the workforce. Software engineering and leading teams of engineers has always been the thing I love to do. I know, weird for a girl right? I just hope 20 years from now that's not true anymore.
